Writing: I appreciated how strongly realized these characters and their personalities are. Tyler, in particular, seemed to have the "macho secret-agent-man" thing down while still managing to come across as human. That's not a move many writers (or artists) would make and here it's pulled off amazingly well. My only gripe here is that the book is more a collection of very brief plot snapshots. It's a bit like being kicked in the teeth by a disappearing foot. You know you got hit hard, you just aren't sure why and by whom...
Artwork: The art was solid throughout the issue. Each character had a pretty distinct look which suited their personality. Again, I thought Tyler's field gear was a pretty nifty design.
Overall: 3 stars. There's potential here if we can see a book that pulls together a strong story arc with these characters. Once that comes about, I'll be hooked.

Writing: This was a good beginning to introducing me to the main characters of this title. I did feel like I was geting a lot of vignettes about the story but that wasn't a bad way to be introduced to the storyline. Moving forward I would like to see some more definition of the characters as well as the plot.
Artwork: The art was a strong addition to this title. I thought the greysacle worked well with the syubject matter.
Overall: 3 stars. This was a good beginning. There is a bit more work that needs to be done here but this issue has me interested.

Writing: This book was an interesting take on super-powered people being created and enhanced by a government agency and then used for covert ops. This book tells the tale of a "retired" agent being activated for another mission. It includes some artfully inserted flashbacks for filling in the backstory. I felt this book covered a lot of ground fleshing out some of the characters and their conflicts, but still left a lot of the details to be revealed as the story progresses.
Artwork: I think it worked okay for the story.
Overall: 4 stars. I think this title has a unique blend of some classic comic book staples wrapped up in a well-crafted story.
