The product of a unique mixed-marriage (her mother is a witch and her father is human), Oddly has grown up between cultures and she is the proverbial outsider. On her 10th birthday, her parents mysteriously disappear and she is left in the care of her great Aunt, a citizen of a fantastical place called "Fignation".

Writing:  This was a really pleasant read.  It's not Shakespeare, but most people don't always want to read something that dense anyway - I'm no exception.  The writing had subtle humor, respectable dialogue, and a really interesting premise.  Sometimes the hardest story to pull off is a laid back one.

Artwork:  The artwork was somewhere between manga and standard-issue cartoon, but it worked very well and had a certain class to it that drew me in immediately.

Overall: 4 stars.  I'd really like to read more of this series.  The first volume was a lot of fun and drew me in immediately.

Writing: Oddly Normal a half witch wishes her parents away during a birthday celebration and then has to go live with her Great Aunt in Fignation. This was a quirky enjoyable read. It was very entertaing and the character of Oddly was explored very well in the course of this title. Some of the side characters were exceptionally captured through the storytelling as well as the clique aspect of living in the world of children and school. The humor in this title was very subtle but I thought it was expressed through the plot in an interesting manner.

Artwork: The art was colorful, somewhat simplistic but worked well in defining the story and the characters. I thought the depictions of the Fignation and the school there to enhance the actual story well.

Overall:  4 stars. I found this to be a quick entertaining read. It was easy to follow and the characters were fleshed out well. I'd look forward to more of this title.

Writing: I was going to call this a cute story, but that can sometimes have negative overtones which wouldn't be appropriate.  This is a nice read about Oddly's exploration of who she is and where she came from while she is looking for her parents who disappeared.

Artwork: It was okay, nothing really stood out one way or another.

Overall: 4 stars. In summary, I found this book quirky and endearing.

Writing: This is a very good "all ages" story.  The world that Oddly goes to is richly defined and never boring. The writing and story telling are excellent.  If you haven't read any of the issues of the comic, this title is certainly worth picking up.

Artwork: Nicely done artwork. This style is perfect for this type of story.

Overall: 4 stars. This is the sort of book that you wish would become a bit more popular and draw children in.
