Writing: A decent first issue. We're introduced to the main character through an officers narration, with Katharsis showing up at the end of the story to kill the storyteller and all his men. Katharsis fills in the blanks on how he transitioned from fighting with the Germans to fighting against them. At the end of the book there was an allusion to the story being deeper than 'bored god playing with his powers'.
Artwork: I did not like the artwork for this book. It has that heavily shaded, not quite in focus feeling that I just do not do well with.
Overall: 3 stars. The characters and story have potential. I'd like to see where it goes.

Writing: This was a good first issue. I thought the main character was a very interesting concept and I liked the way the story played out. This has the potential to be a good series. My biggest gripe was the art. I found it murked up the story and occasionally made it hard to follow.
Artwork: This was one of the weaknesses of this comic in my opinion. It was hard to follow in some places and lowered my overall grade for an issue that had a solid storyline.
Overall: 3 stars. Overall a good story with the art getting in the way of it.

Writing: I had to reread sections of the story as I got a little bit confused by who was narrating the story (now I just might have missed something along the way) but by the end I had found the rhythm of the story and found it entertaining at the end.
I'm not sure that I really liked the bad guy in this story. He didn't seem to have a personality that I could grab hold of. With that being said, I am interested to see where this might go since for a "super-hero" type of comic, this one doesn't seem to follow all the usual rules.
Artwork: Gotta agree with the others. I think with black and white that sometimes it seems better to not have a ton of detail, which is what is happening here. So much is going on that sometimes its tough to figure out what is going on.
Overall: 3 stars. Decent story with some artwork issues.
