Writing: Set in what I guess is post bomb droped world this is the story of Lord Bashido who I surmise was saved from his death by events we aren't privy to as of yet. I thought the story was fairly well done and I wouldn't be surprised if I found out the land the story is set in is what used to be America. The biggest problem I found with this issue (it is issue one) was that a lot was introduced that so far doesn't have any real thread laid out yet. I figure as the issues progress more will be revealed but this issue definately leaves a lot open for interpretation.
Artwork: The art was well done. I appreciated the facial expressions quite a bit in this issue. also I thought a lot of the subtlety of the story was also conveyed through the artwork.
Overall: 4 stars. I enjoyed this story, so far there is still a lot about it that is sketchy but I expect this will be fleshed out in subsequent issues.

Writing: I am not sure what conclusions I am supposed to draw from this story. Is Bashido the reincarnation of Lord Bashido? Is Lady Sadako the reincarnation of his daughter? (if so, ewww...) Am I trying to read too much into this?
Artwork: The Yeti fight scenes were a little hard to follow, but all in all it was decent art.
Overall: 3 stars. I think this book has potential, but it did not quite gel for me.

Writing: While I liked the writing, I thought the storytelling sort of meandered all over the place and didn't really focus enough for me. It covers different eras but I don't think they were covered long enough to tell the whole story. (Sidenote: I'm not sure if this is the case with all the issues, but the one sent to us had one page repeated, and I got the feeling we might have been missing one)
It will be interesting to see where this story is going to go after all of this background information is finished.
Artwork: I loved the artwork, I'm starting to become a big fan of the grayscale comics. Using this technique seems to give the artists more time to be very detailed and it is appreciated by me.
Overall: 3 stars. This was close to a four for me, but there were a few spots that I just wasn't quite sure what was going on.
