Artist: Lia Fiengo
Dialog Supervisors: Angel Hill & Nick Johnson

Description of book: From the website: This is a story of contrasts; true or false, right or wrong dreams or nightmares, dream or reality, black or white and so on. You change 'or' with 'and' and it should still work. At this point, airshell tells about a young man in a very distant future (probably centuries and centuries from present time), who doesn't perceive things like the others. Is he right? Is he wrong? Is he right and wrong at the same time? Who knows...

Writing: This was a bit of an esoteric read. It was fairly interesting but I found I wasn't really sure where it was trying to go. Some really interesting concepts and philosophy were presented but they seemed a bit disjointed to me. It was sort of like trying to roll up all the angst of life and set it down into a comic. Don't get me wrong I pretty much liked this title, I just came away feeling slightly confused. Perhaps a few more issues will clear it up for me.

Artwork: I liked the artwork a lot. This was a black and white feature and I found the art to be interesting and captivating. The lead character can lose the straightjacket looking jacket though.

Overall: 3 stars. This was an interesting one. Not really sure where I stand on it yet as I'm going to rely on future issues to see where this one is going. I'm going with three stars but this is probably more in the 3 1/2 stars catagory.

Writing: The premise for this book appears to be a pretty standard plot device. With the slightly meandering, slightly preachy approach to story development, at the end of the first issue I haven't seen enough to say if there is something unique worth digging into or if it is just a straightforward tale in the genre.

Artwork: I disagree with Stefan, as I liked the jacket as a symbol of how restrictive their society was.  Rene seemed a bit effeminite in appearance, and we never see any other male characters up close enough to know if it was intentional or not.

Overall: 3 stars. I'm kind of on the fence about this title after one issue.  I'd definitely like to read an issue or two more to see where it goes before making any final judgement.

Robert Weiman

Writing: I started reading this and at first I couldn't stand it.  The book was giving a background of how the world got to where the story was set, and everything sounded like a big essay on environmental issues.

Fortunately, by the end of the book, the story includes some mystery surrounding the main character. (is this going to have some sort of Matrix like premise?) This gives me hope for future issues.

Artwork: I really liked the artwork.  Everything is drawn very crisp and clean which is more to my liking.

Overall: 3 stars. After a very rough start I thought about 2/3 through it started to grab me as being more than just a green peace ad.  I'd be interested to see where this goes.
