Writing: This issue continues the story of The Super Real reality TV series. The participants in the series arrive and are introduced to their accomodations. There are some conflicts addressed between the network the the genetic enhancement partners as well as some last minute wrinkles to be worked out.
While I thought this issue wasn't as outright funny as issue one I did think this played a pivotal role in moving the story onward as well as fleshing out the characters admirably. The story flowed nicely and the pace was quick and snappy. Probably my biggest gripe was the interplay between W.W. III and Dick Fadir both thinly disguised versions of George Bush and Dick Cheney. I didn't think the interplay was all that bad just that it was done with those characatures. Overall this didn't lessen my enjoyment so it's just mentioned here as an aside. So far this has been a strong indi title.
Artwork: The artwork was a little off for me especially when it came to the likenesses of Bush and Cheney. It was almost like the artist while trying to be obvious enough was also trying to disguise the likenesses.
Overall: 4 stars. I've enjoyed the first two issues of this title. It's a good premise and it is being fleshed out well. I'm looking forward to issue 3.

Writing: This issue moves the story along nicely. The team meets up at the Portland Airport and is shuttled to their new home. We are introduced to more of the management team behind the show, and some of the conflicts between the science firm and the tv network are brought out into the open. I was mildly surprised that Shana riding with the producer did not lead to anything more than an arrow pointing at a wedding ring in the coin tray.
Artwork: I found the resemblance between W.W. III and George W. Bush a little annoying, as some of his behavior seemed a little bit too much of a stretch for George, and so it came off as more of a cheap shot to me.
Overall: 4 stars. This continues the over-the-top look at reality tv and super-heros, but with enough thought and back-story to ensure that it is more than just a cheap parody.

Writing: If you read my review of issue #1 you know that I loved the first issue and was greatly anticipating the second one. Well, I just finished the second issue and I was mildly disappointed. The reason for my disappointment? I think mainly it was because of unreasonable expectations, because I did like the story.
I thought the book was a nice bridge between the introduction of the characters and when (I'm guessing) these same characters will get their superpowers and start the reality show. In fact, I applaud the writers/publishers for not rushing the story. Many others would have already had the characters leaving the show and doing other deeds after two issues.
Artwork: I have mixed feelings about the artwork and I think that is mainly why I was a little disappointed in this issue. For the most part I liked the artwork but there were a couple of items that I had issues with. The first issue I has was with the use of actual photos as the background was a chance taken by the artist that worked in some cells and not in others.
My other issue (and Bob and Stefans also apparently) was the use of Bush and Chaney look alikes. I don't have anything against mocking them, but I found myself drifting away from the story and looking at the artwork outside the context of the story.
Overall: 4 stars. With all the comments above, I still really enjoy this story and I have confidence in the creative team to continue keeping it interesting and fresh in upcoming issues.
