Writing:  I have to admit that I'd never expect there to be an exciting story that could be written around Librarians chasing down past-due books.  In this case, I was vastly incorrect.  While this isn't a particularly deep or engrossing story, it was plenty entertaining and did make me wonder what other sick and depraved storylines this series may exhibition in future issues.

Artwork:  There was some really sharp monochrome artwork in this issue.  If this team will be on-board for the duration of the series, it'll have a very quality look to back any future content.

Overall: 3 stars.  I'd like to see more, but I wouldn't mind seeing a consistent crew of characters and a little more depth to those we're given.

Alex Haas

Writing: I agree that the librarian hook sounds a little weak, until you get that the library is in New Hampshire, the name includes Miskatonic, and the address they are standing in front of is 666 Dante Street.  Once it starts unfolding, it isn't particularly subtle.

Artwork: I also thought the artwork was very nicely drawn.

Overall: 3 stars. A decent beginning for a book with a lot of potential.

Writing: I agree with Alex, if you told me that I was going to be reading a book about a librarian that, along with other team members, hunt down late books, I don't think I would have jumped for joy.  But this book was pretty entertaining.  I enjoyed the first half of the book more than the later, but it never got boring across the whole thing.

I thought the writer and artist did an nice job of making you think that the librarian was a hot female but you find out that is far from the case.  If you like a book about something that is off the beaten path, you may enjoy this one.

Artwork: I really liked the pencil work. This is what I want to see from a black and white book. Panels that are very detailed but not to the point where items start running together.

Overall: 3 stars. An entertaining book that I thought could have been better, but you have to give some credit for the creativity.
