Hard

Review:  I had the chance to see the preview edition of this anthology several moons back and, I'm happy to say, as I thought at the time, this has shaped up into a very solid anthology.  Though its only real weakness is a lack of thematic unity, each story serves as a self-contained entry, both the writing and the art pulling in the same direction.

Beyond that, there isn't a lot to be said here.  Jason Franks has clearly gathered a great roster of talented artists and writers.

The only thing that could have been done to really improve this comic would have been to make a graphic novel length anthology of it.  Within a larger setting, the schizophrenic feel of this book would have become a strength rather than a liability (albeit not a huge one), with the reader able to get into the wide spread of subject matter.

Overall: 3 stars.
