Review:  It's not often you can say that a series proper begins with a "bang," but there's a first time for everything...

The first issue of Caliber offered character exhibition with touches of character development.  At this point, the plot has moved forward by a good couple of years, with Arthur now 18 or thereabouts (having been a child of some indeterminate age in the last issue).

There is a touch of scene-setting with the controlled chaos of the land being brought to the forefront before we're presented with the actual catalyst for what appears to be the meat of the plot.

I have to confess, there are plots and alliances hinted at here that I don't yet fully understand, but I can hope that they will be made clear in time.

As it stands, this is a fine step for the series as I'm now incredibly curious as to how it all fits together.

Overall: 4 stars.
