Writing:  I was kind of blind-sided by this title.  The first story was much more romance than horror, even if it did incorporate some pretty fantasy-heavy elements.  The other two just threw out the book and dove pretty heavily into the horror side.  The nearest comparison I could draw would be freaky Twilight Zone episodes that happen to have a love interest written into them.

There was no point at which I felt the stories didn't work and they were largely believable without too much suspension of disbelief.  The only complaint I have is a result of how little space each story was given.  The characters and plots weren't given room to breathe and I felt that a few of the endings came out of nowhere given that.

Artwork:  There was a very adult-contemporary feel to the issue, which suited the vibe of adults in love (even in bizarre situations).

Overall: 3 stars.  The idea works, but I'd really like to see one story per issue that gives these threads more room to truly run their course and draw me in as a reader.

Writing: This is composed of three short stories that seem to crossover between the genres' of Amour and The Evil Inside.  My personal favorite was the first one, Mirror Mirror.  The supernatural guardian turned lover was an interesting theme.  Love sprouts was okay, although it seemed a little derivative.  One Happy Family just didn't work for me.  I think it might have been too short, and so the backstory wasn't explored fully enough to have it all really flow.

Overall: 3 stars. Again, an okay collection of stories that crossover between two genres that I'm not particularly fond of.

Writing: The three stories in this book felt sort of Tales From the Cryptish to me.  Short one shot stories that typically end negatively for the stars of the stories.  I liked all three of the stories. While there was little in the way of character developement due to the length of the stories, all the background needed is given to you in these edgy tales.

I think my favorite one was Mirror/Mirror, but the other ones were very good also. To me, this is one of the best horror short story books that we've reviewed in awhile.

Artwork: Very solid artwork across all the stories. With such short stories, the artwork becomes that much more important in helping tell the tales. This titles artwork certainly did that.

Overall: 4 stars. This might have been my favorite issue from Approbation Comics to date.
